No More Dodos was set up to raise awareness through sport and art about what is happening to the planet and to encourage individuals and groups to take positive action. With the constraints that Covid has brought in the last two years, we have not been able to fulfil our purpose during this time and for most of the last year our charity has been dormant.
It has become clear to the trustees of No More Dodos that the purpose for which we launched is now a mainstream concern and is being fulfilled by many other groups, including some using the unique approach of art and sport that we pioneered. Even the government is taking up the task, with their proposed Climate Change GCSE.
No More Dodos has served to influence others about the need for action on behalf of the environment, but the time has come to pass the baton on to those who have ample resources and are better able to address the issues which we have set out to do. To avoid duplication of effort, we are applying to close the charity.
The trustees give heartfelt thanks to all of those who supported No More Dodos in some way, including our Art and Sport Ambassadors.
